Marleshwar Yatra is a spiritual festival that takes place annually on Makar Sankranti in Sangameshwar, Maharashtra. The festival is held at the Marleshwar Temple, a small Shiva temple located in a cave. The temple is said to have been established by Lord Parashurama on Makar Sankranti.
Activities
The annual festival celebrates the marriage of Marleshwar and Goddess Girija Devi. The yatra attracts thousands of devotees. A Religious Event at Marleshwar temple, a fair is organised every January when millions of people visit the temple during the fair. programs like music, plays, kirtans, bhajans continue for the two days. Mahaprasad is also distributed to all the Devotees. Traditional play like Dashavatar or Shivcharitra is organised.
