History
The Kunkeshwar Mandir in Devgad, Maharashtra is believed to have been built by the Yadava dynasty in the 12th century. The temple is also known as the Kashi of South Konkan. Some say the temple was built after a sailor committed suicide from the top of the temple, believing his religion would not accept him after the temple was made. The temple complex also includes a tomb in memory of the sailor.
