Dakshinmukhi Maruti Temple

The Dakshinmukhi Maruti temple in Ratnagiri city is one of the very few temples of south facing Maruti. This temple was built by Swami Samarth Ramdas and later renovated by Shivaji Maharaj.

Kankaditya Temple- Located at Kasheli at a distance of 30 km from Ratnagiri is the temple with a bright historical background and the deity of God Aditya (one of the names of God Sun) was brought from Prabhas Pattan Sun temple 800 years ago. A great devotee of God Sun, Kanaka, was living at Kasheli. She got the enlightened from God Sun about the deity. Then she had formally constructed a small temple of Aditya with the help of villagers, hence the temple is known as Kanakaditya. The cave is called as "Devachi Kholi" (God s room).
